Veteran leader and former Executive Director steps into role to deepen impact and expand opportunity for Black professionals in gaming…
November 18, 2025 — The BIG Foundation (also known as Black in Gaming) proudly announces the appointment of Trinidad Hermida Black as its new Board Chair, ushering in a new chapter of leadership dedicated to advancing representation, equity, and opportunity for Black professionals in the video game industry.
Trinidad Hermida Black is a visionary leader, strategist, and advocate who has played an integral role in shaping BIG’s mission and impact. As a member and former Executive Director, she has championed initiatives that create access for Black talent, foster belonging within creative and technical spaces, and empower the next generation of innovators and leaders in gaming.
“It is an honor to continue serving this community that has shaped so much of my professional and personal journey,” said Hermida Black. “Leadership is about legacy, and together, we have the opportunity to strengthen the bridge for those coming after us, ensuring that access, opportunity, and innovation remain at the heart of everything we build.”

Under Hermida Black’s leadership, The BIG Foundation will continue expanding its efforts in four key areas:
